Methods We checked a freely accessible online and constantly updated version of the Beall lists of potential predatory publishers/journals in the field of CCM. Based on the decision-theoretical conditions underlying the selection of events for news coverage in science journalism, this article uses a novel input-output analysis to investigate which of the more than eight million scientific study results published between August 2014 and July 2018 have been selected by global journalism to a relevant degree. Sporotrichoid Cases of Mycobacterium Marinum Skin Infection.

Mycobacterium marinum belongs to the slow growth photochromogenous mycobacteria group. It is pathogenic for fish and human beings in which it can cause cutaneous nodular and ulcerative lesions, sometimes with sporotrichoid arrangement. We report three cases of sporotrichoid Mycobacterium marinum infections successfully treated with prolonged antibiotic therapy. Tropical fish aquaria and, more in general, the water environment were identified as the source of infection.
